Here are our top Frequently Asked Questions regarding Electricians and our Electrical Services.

Do you provide FREE Quotes?

YES, we provide Free Quotes for your electrical needs.  We are happy to meet you at your home or office to discuss any and all of your electrical needs.  There are many variables in electrical work, but our Electrical Director can provide our best estimate and discuss these with you.  In some circumstances, we are unable to provide a Quote because an estimate of time is not possible (factors like access, old wiring, fault finding etc).  However, this would be communicated to you; then and there.  Contact Nashcom Electrical to arrange an inspection or meeting today!  We have experienced Electrical Contractors available – Domestic Electrician, Commercial Electrician, Industrial Electrician.


How will my electrical bill be calculated?

We complete work based on what is termed “Do & Charge” for electrical Labour and Materials.  Our time sheets are electronically monitored and are added to your electrical job via iPad on site.  We have a Standard hourly rate for electrical labour for Tradesmen and Apprentices.

Be wary of electrical contractors that provide “fixed” fees for electrical work.  Often times this is still based on an amount of time, and once that time has expired the contractor finishes their work.  This may or may not mean that your electrical job is actually finished.  We also have a lot of feedback from customers where they have been caught with electrical contractors that aren’t able to finish the work because their skills are not up to standard.  Yet, they charge the customer for the work anyway.  And they charge the usual standard hourly rate for an appropriately qualified and licensed electrician (when they clearly are not up to standard).

We, at Nashcom Electrical, do not operate our Electrical Contracting business that way.  We have been operating an electrical business on the Sunshine Coast, and in Caloundra, a long time.  We have long standing loyal customers for our electrical services and we charge a fair price for the electrical work we complete to a very high standard.


What are your electrical service areas?

We service the whole of the Sunshine Coast for our electrical work for the whole range of electrical services we have on offer.  Although we are located in Caloundra, we complete new home electrical wiring for projects from Noosa to Pelican Waters Caloundra and each suburb in between up and down the coast.  We also extend our electrical services past the Bruce Highway (West) to Landsborough, Maleny, Montville, Palmview and Beerwah and in between.  Call Nashcom Electrical to check our availability to complete your electrical job.


You look like a big company, do you do smaller electrical jobs?

Yes, of course! Although we have a team of licensed electricians and can handle bigger residential, industrial and commercial electrical projects, we are always available for smaller electrical jobs too.  Our business started (some 15 years ago) servicing home owners for residential electrical services and we will always be available for these electrical jobs.  If you need a smoke alarms installed – we can do it.  If you need some downlights repaired or replaced – we can do it.  If you need some outside lights or sensor lights installed – we can do it.  No job is too big or too small for our local electricians.


What products do you use?

We only use materials, electrical cable, data cable and other electrical products from reputable electrical Wholesalers within Australia.  Yes, you may find some electricians with lower prices for materials and jobs.  But you need to ask yourself if they are using reliable product to the legislated electrical standard to get the job done.  There are a number of cheap imports flooding our Australian electrical market at the moment.  We do not use this product for our home wiring or commercial electrical services (or any electrical services!).

In the end a reliable product lasts a lot longer and is less likely to cause electrical faults and disruptions to your lighting and power over time.


What if I have an electrical emergency?

We have available an electrician 24/7 that can attend to after hours and weekend electrical needs.  So, if you require a 24 hour electrician on the Sunshine Coast or in Caloundra, we will be able to meet your requirements.  Have the lights and power gone out?  Have you lost hot water? Do you think you have an electrical safety problem?  Is your safety switch tripping?  These are all common electrical services we can attend to.


We are building our own home, can you provide us with an Electrical Plan and advice?

Congratulations! And yes, we can provide you with an Electrical Plan that can meet all of your lighting, power, data and electrical needs.  We are experienced in new home builds, renovations and extensions.  We can advise you on the best placement of power points and switches, best use of energy efficient lighting, dimmers and sensors.  And having completed renovations for ourselves – we know all of the tips and tricks in making the supply of electrical services a seamless process.
